Not to be confused with that rocker with a similar name, Steve was born and raised
in North Carolina in a musical family -- piano, organ, guitar, banjo, trumpet and other wind
instruments (immediate family) and a gospel quartet (extended family). With roots in County
Galway, a love of Irish music came naturally. Steve has also been influenced by a lifetime
of exposure to a wide array of music. In addition to playing the tinwhistle and Irish flute, he is a member of the Chancel Choir of Knollwood Baptist Church and the DCCC Chorus.
He has a master's degree
in business and a doctorate in education. In addition to music he enjoys sailing and riding
his Harley, hence the nickname.
